How many of you good folks still have open drive-in theatres nearby? Living in Oklahoma I have a drive-in theatre that I frequent reguarly. Its called the Winchester drive-in. Every weekend there is a triple feature. The food is good and quite affordable. Just a sampling, hamburgers, burritos, corndogs, fries, and chicken strips. This is a family oriented drive-in that is a pleasure to visit. I would like to hear about your favorite drive-in either past or present. Reply #1 From: phil from bensonhurst Date: 08/30/2006 well the drive-in that most people in new york city would remember is the sunrise drive-in located in valley stream. had many good times there. did anobody ever hide in the trunk to get in free. i did and so did my friends. Reply #2 From: mikemovies Date: 08/30/2006 I understand that there are no more drive-in theatres in nyc or Long Island. When I lived in Indiana one of the favorite theatres was Tibbs Drive-In. Tibbs Drive-In has four screens with double features like the old days. Reply #3 From: JIMMY Date: 09/02/2006 Of course I remember the Sunrise drivein. Went on a number of dates there. Sometimes the cars would be backed up on the Sunrise hwy. How about the Whitestone drivein. That was the last drivein located in the city. Reply #4 From: Bob Date: 10/26/2006 My girlfriend (now wife of 36 years) had many great dates at the Sunrise Drive-In. In the winter, you could use the heaters to keep warm. Sometimes, we even watched the film. Reply #5 From: Bob Date: 10/26/2006 My girlfriend (now wife of 36 years) and I had many great dates at the Sunrise Drive-In.
