I have a picture in it's original frame that came from my husband's Grandmother. It is titled Shepards Call L38306 G521/4. I love this picture and just wanted to know about its origin. The address is Radio Picture Frame Co. Inc 104 S. 4th St. Brooklyn, NY stamped on the back. If anyone has any information please let me know. The stock # is 3545/1. However, here's the twist ... the frame company used a cut-down movie marquee poster from the 1934 version of All Quiet on the Western Front. Even more interesting - along with the stamp of the framer is a hand-written dedication, "To Mother From Leonard, October 8, 1937 Brunswick, Georgia". It's entitled "Scenes" and the address of the company is 1540 Covert St., Brooklyn, N.Y. Looks like the number stamped on the back is "S102". The frame it is in is stamped "Q39087 Flower Radio Picture Frame Co., Inc. 1540 Covert St. Brooklyn, N.Y." Not sure the artwork and frame necessarily go together, but would love info on either. I's a picture of a "tall ship" of the 18th century. Here's a little clue on age. It has an NRA CODE stamp (WW2 ration stamp) for Picture Moulding & Picture Frame Code Authority. Gotta mean it was sold new during that period. Anyone have any ideas yet? What's a value on these pieces? They are flower prints, hand colored in pastel, on paper matted with cardboard printed to look like bamboo. The frames are either bamboo or made to look like bamboo. The cardboard backing is stamped several times wih Radio Picture Frame Co., Inc., 1540 Covert St., Brooklyn, N.Y. I would love to know what era these are from. I was guessing that it was from the 30s or 40s and based on other replys I'm now sure of that. I think I'm going to display mine with my other artwork. I did notice one thing noone else mentioned.
