Does anyone know whatever became of Studio 54 in Manhattan? Unfortunately, my family moved from Brooklyn, NY to the South FL region in late '76. As a young teenager, at that time, I never got to experience the so-called 'night life' @ Studio 54. Just curious whatever became of this establishment and also, what it was like back in the glorious disco era. Reply #1 From: sharon Date: 10/17/2006 I think a movie was made about Studio 54. You may want to check online (Google.com) and see what the outcome of the club was. I'm from Brooklyn, NY but no longer reside there. I never went to Studio 54, (to young at the time) but I remember hearing about it when I lived in NY. Reply #2 From: Disco Nightmare Date: 10/24/2006 The original Studio 54 closed around 1980-81. My then 14-year old catholic-school-girl sister snuck in to the place one night with her rotten friends. A lot of kids were doing this then, and she looked older than 14 but not 18. She got home drunk at 5am after we called the police thinking God knows what had happened to her. The genius gave her phone# and address to the 30-something guy whose apartment she 'visited' that night. The guy then shows up a week later to pick her up for a 'date'. I wanted to strangle him but he got the picture real quick and drove off. Very nice girl my little sister, very nice. Reply #3 From: MIL Date: 10/31/2006 This is interesting information. Just out of curiousity, would either of you happen to know if Studio 54 was where they filmed all the Disco dance scenes of the '70's Box Office Smash with John Travolta - Saturday Night Fever? I'm only curious, as it appears this picture was primarily filmed in NYC.
