 I realize names like Carnasie and Gowanus are among the few
remnants of Brooklyn's original inhabitants. The were,
however, people who lived, loved, and died in Brooklyn long
before the first Dutch ever left Amsterdam. Yet this site
and the links on the Brooklyn history page have nary a
mention of such people. Although information about the
pre-european Brooklyn is scarce, it is availible (New York
City Historical Society,anyone?). So how about a passing
mention of the FIRST AMERICANS who once roamed the area your
site is based on. Brooklyn Online is incomplete until you do
so.
