The egg cream, which has no egg, was named for the frothy
white beaten egg-looking foam that appears at the top when
it is stirred vigorously.

You can make it at home from readily available ingredients:

Fox's U-Bet syruo
Whole milk
Seltzer

Pour some syrup into the bottom of a tall glass

Add a bit of milk

Stir vigorously

Then continue stirring slowly as you add seltzer

Fox's U-Bet syrups are available in bulk at the fox
warehouse which is located under the queens side of the
Koscuiosko (sp) Bridge. Last time I visited I bought 4
gallons of their chocolate syrup
