Well it was confirmed a tornado tore through Park Slope on Thursday 16
September.
According to National Weather Service data the first touch down point was at the
offices of Brooklyn On Line in Park Slope.

The damage at the BOL office location was light with smaller tree branches
strewn about the back yard and one large tree branch broken almost all the way
through.  At the time of this writing it is hanging by only a few strands of
wood and will be professionally cut down in the next few days.

There was also some damage to short wave radio antennas on the roof of the
building, but this is nothing compared to some of the damage only 2 blocks away
as the tornado picked up energy.  Large trees were uprooted, many tree limbs
were downed and ornamental iron work was torn from the steeples of churches and
flung to the  street damaging cars below.

Tornado conditions are not something we see often in Brooklyn, but they are
something we should always remember can happen anywhere and we should be ready
to take cover in basements or interior rooms of our homes and offices.
