Born and raised in '42 on corner of alabama and riverdale.
At that time there was almost as many kosher delis(are there
any other kind?) as candy stores. I remember about three on
Livonia-one off williams ,one on Pennsylvania and one on
Sntica.

My father owned the barber shop and beauty parlor on Livonia
Ave. opposite Thomas Jefferson Field.While we at at the Deli
on Pennsylvania and Livonia, the one that I've searched for
years to find an equal to was Gorelick's..New Lots and
Alabama Aves.  Couldn't beat the pastrami om club, and oh
that potato salad.Can't chase the past...have tried for
years.What was was.Thanks for the memories.
