How many of you good folks still have open drive-in theatres nearby? Living in Oklahoma I have a drive-in theatre that I frequent reguarly. Its called the Winchester drive-in. Every weekend there is a triple feature. The food is good and quite affordable. Just a sampling, hamburgers, burritos, corndogs, fries, and chicken strips. This is a family oriented drive-in that is a pleasure to visit. I would like to hear about your favorite drive-in either past or present.
well the drive-in that most people in new york city would remember is the sunrise drive-in located in valley stream. had many good times there. did anobody ever hide in the trunk to get in free. i did and so did my friends.
I understand that there are no more drive-in theatres in nyc or Long Island. When I lived in Indiana one of the favorite theatres was Tibbs Drive-In. Tibbs Drive-In has four screens with double features like the old days.
Of course I remember the Sunrise drivein. Went on a number of dates there. Sometimes the cars would be backed up on the Sunrise hwy. How about the Whitestone drivein. That was the last drivein located in the city.
My girlfriend (now wife of 36 years) had many great dates at the Sunrise Drive-In. In the winter, you could use the heaters to keep warm. Sometimes, we even watched the film.
